This kit contains all the parts you need to convert a Volvo J type overdrive into the correct ratio and connection to fit into a TR6. It contains a new “8 start” speedometer drive worm gear for the mainshaft, a new, correct length, 20 tooth speedometer pinion driven gear, a new speedometer bushing with new seal and o-ring, a new ferrule and fork. You must disassemble the Volvo overdrive to install the “8 start” worm gear on the annulus. This kit not only enables you to connect to the TR6 speedometer cable but gives the correct ratio for the stock TR6 speedometer. This kit will fit all Volvo J type overdrives with the mechanical type speedometer assembly. (Aside from being 30 to 50 years old, with 50 to 70 year old technology!) After many years of development, we can now offer a complete 5 speed conversion kit package for the Triumph TR series cars. This kit comes complete with a modified, rebuilt Ford type 9 (Sierra) 5 speed transmission with the standard Ford gear ratios and a one year warranty. It also includes a new driveshaft, new transmission rear flange, new cast aluminum bell housing, new engine pilot bushing, transmission mount kit, modified TR shifter to fit the Ford transmission, new speedometer cable, new clutch disk, and all hardware and instructions to install it in your car. You need to specify the year and model of your car and what year is your engine. (They are not always the same as the car’s year anymore!) This kit may require some exhaust modifications for the TR2/3 and early TR4 cars, depending on the type and manufacturer of your exhaust system. Other than that it is a bolt in conversion. This would be from transmission serial number CD20282 onward. Transmissions prior to this number would require that the input shaft and matching cluster gear wheel also be replaced to match the "free caged" bearing design. This package includes a completely rebuilt J type overdrive unit, with solenoid. New clutch sliding member, bearings, pump body, o-rings, gaskets and seals. Unit has been bench tested and comes with a one year warranty. KIT- This package consists of a fresh, never installed professionally rebuilt TR3B/TR4/250/6 transmission with A type overdrive unit and a new solenoid. This unit has been bench tested and comes with a one year warranty. Transmission has all new bearings, synchros, layshaft, seals and gaskets and a new mainshaft. Overdrive has all new bearings, clutch, acummulator, orings seals and gaskets. The overdrive ratio is 22%. Package also includes all parts needed to install the transmission in a non overdrive car. New wiring harnesses, switch and escutcheon and right angle speedometer drive for transmission. No other modifications are required for installation. The A type overdrives are beginning to get difficult to find in rebuildable condition. This reduces engine RPM on the highway by 700 RPM. This transmission will also fit into the TR2 and TR3 cars.
